Teresa Klansek
I am Teresa Klansek, new to CLC, teaching high school Anatomy and Physiology.
I have a dual career calling:
1) Teacher – I have homeschooled my two girls, since my oldest daughter began kindergarten in 2002. I have taught in large-groups and small-sized co-ops, and instructed both children and adults at church. Our family currently attends Leesburg Community Church, where my husband of 22 years, and I serve as deacons.
2) Physician – After completing medical training in Pennsylvania, I have practiced medicine for over 17 years, first with a private family practice in Fairfax, and currently in an urgent care facility near my home in Leesburg, where I serve the community 12-15 hours per week.
Obviously, I have a special love for science and want to share academic information about the human body with high school students from a Christian perspective. My goal is to instill an informed awe of the structure and function of our bodies—God’s crown of creation—and to provide students foundational knowledge for future endeavors in health care, physical fitness, or parenting.
In giving up a potentially lucrative career as a physician, I have no regrets. I am thankful for the ability and privilege to teach my children -to hold them close and watch their little bodies, minds, and spirits grow in Christ. My desire for my students is to pursue lifelong learning, especially in science.
