BS in Education from St. John's University

I’d like to start by saying that I am very excited about this chance I have been given to teach your child. I would also like to tell you a little about myself. I have been married for 21 years. My husband, Mike, is retired from the Air Force. We have four children, Caity-17, Patrick-12, Teddy- 9, and Alina - 3. My mother was a stay-at-home mom and my father was a pilot in the Air Force. On average we moved every two years. I was exposed to a variety of schooling methods, both in the public and private school settings. I went on to college and received my bachelor’s degree in education.
It is through my friends that I have been exposed to homeschooling and specifically the idea of teaching to a group of homeschooled children in a classroom setting. Over the years, I watched their children and how they were learning. I was given the chance to tutor a friend’s child and my desire to be the one teaching grew. It was only when the Lord knew that the timing would be right for my own family, that He presented me the exciting opportunity to be a part of this wonderful Co-op.
You can expect me to be both a teacher of information and a trainer in how to use that information. I will have a vested interest in your child. I want them to succeed. How they do in my class will be up to both my ability to get the information across and their ability and willingness to absorb it.This will require both work in and out of the class room. In order for me to do my best I will expect your child to do their best. I will expect regular attendance and completion of weekly assignments. I will expect them to complete their work and return the next week prepared.
If your child is consistently performing below a C, I will be in contact with you to see what we can jointly do to help them. Conversely, if you find your child is not doing well, I would expect you to let me know what you think I should be doing differently. I will have a schedule of how I think the year should go, but it will be flexible enough to allow for changes should I find the children need to move slower or faster.
I will want to see your children participating in the class room discussion with a positive attitude. I will not be able to give the level of education your child deserves, if I constantly have to deal with inappropriate interruptions or behavior. Such problems will be dealt with in the classroom setting the first few times they occur. If they continue, I will be contacting you in order to get your help in resolving the problem. If it can not be resolved, I would expect you to pull your child from the class. In a way, this is a money back guarantee for you as a parent. If your child is not getting anything out of my class, they do not have to be there.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at
