Renee Corcoran
Hi! My name is Renee’ L. Corcoran. So, you want to know a little bit about me. I was born in sunny Northern California and there is where I called home for 29 years. I grew up in a large and outgoing family of 11, attending many different schools, and finally home schooling myself out of high school in three short but tough years. Reading has always been a strong passion of mine and the library was my favorite place to be. As a child I never went anywhere without a few good books.
In 1997, my husband, I and our young family relocated to Waterford, VA.; the prettiest place on earth, or at least in our opinion. The beach would have been our second choice. We built a wonderful farmhouse upon 120 acres in the rural part of Loudoun County. We share our bit of heaven with 4 Corcoran siblings, their families and our children’s grandparents. Family is extremely important to us.
I have homeschooled our five children forever…my two oldest sons will be graduating from high school this coming September. I have tried many different approaches to schooling them, yet my greatest love is the unit study approach. I naturally enjoy reading many books, researching and working on hands-on projects, such as book making, scrapbooks, 3-d building projects and lap books.
Reading, discussing, researching, cutting, gluing, and building hands-on projects will always be my preferred way of teaching, instructing and encouraging my students.
My first priority in teaching is to keep the fire of learning burning in their souls. I will do my best to challenge them in all their educational pursuits while glorifying God in their daily lives. I desire to foster all children to be life-long learners. Orderly and good behavior in my classroom is expected at all times, so as to facilitate the best learning environment possible. I am thrilled at the opportunity to partner with parents to teach their children.
