Course Description
Writing, Grammar and Literature are an important part of your students education. It is our desire as a co-op to put your child in the class that best suits their education and training to date. There are 4 English classes designed to give your student an strong foundation on grammar, writing, vocabulary, and literature.
In English 3, students will continue to perfect the 5 paragraph essay's. They will experiment in writing many varied kinds of essays on many different topics. Students will review the format of a research paper and write a full blown research paper on an approved topic. They will use the MLA style whose guidelines can be found online. Students will move away from formal grammar and will only review troublesome areas. In literature, students will be asked to expand and include more analytical thought as they continue to explore literature. They will be asked to make comparisons and draw conclusions from the different literature they have read.
If you have not taken English 2 or did not receive teacher approval to take English 3, you will need to submit a writing, grammar, and literature sample. Below is the ling to the English 3
TAfter English 2, students progress to English 3, and English 4. In the future we hope to have an English and British Literature class and AP English.
