Human Body, Earth, and Space

 4th Grade

Lori Horner

The first semester we will investigate the human body as God created it.  We will study thirteen body systems. We will begin with the nervous system and finish with a brief introduction to genetics.   The second semester we will begin with a look into space and where we are in the solar system.  We will then spend the rest of the semester studying the Earth.  Our study of the Earth will begin at it’s core and will conclude with the atmosphere and weather.

The teaching format for this class will be lecture/note-taking, hands-on activities, and work-sheets.  The students will have thirty minutes of daily homestudy.  This homestudy will include reviewing notes, vocabulary study, worksheets, looking at and responding to websites, research and projects.  It is my goal to make each class engaging, educational, and “fun”.
