How to join the CLC Booksale Yahoo! Group:  Option 1:  Please contact Desiree Voegele at clccoop03@yahoo.com  requesting to become part of the group.  Upon receiving your request to join we will send you an email invitation to join. Simply follow the directions in the email to become a member.   Option 2:  Send an email to clcbookexchange-subscribe@yahoogroups.com to join.

 

 

How to post to the group:  Option 1:  Send an email to clcbookexchange@yahoogroups.com.    Option 2:  If you have a yahoo id you may access the webpage for our group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/clcbookexchange/.  Click 'Post' to post a message.

 

 

How to SELL an item:   You must follow this format for posting in order to keep consistency from post to post. 

    In subject line type OFFER: <item to be offered>.   Try to be specific in the subject line as to what you are offering.  In the body of the email you will write the details of your offer.  You should include the title, ISBN, copyright, and author of the item.  Please let members know your general location.  Also note the condition of the item. You may ask a specific price for the item or allow for the best offer.  You may offer any homeschooling item. 

                Example of a post:     

                                  Subject:  OFFER:  Picture book Saturday Sancocho

                                  Body of email:  I would like to sell the book Saturday Sancocho, Leyla Torres, ISBN 0-374-36418-4, library binding.  The book is in excellent condition. Will take best offer.  Available for payment & pick up in Purcellville.

 

  

How to BUY an item:   If you are interested in an item posted to the group simply reply to the post.  The email will go directly to the poster of that item.  In your reply you should make your offer (if it applies).   The seller will contact you if he/she accepts the offer.  You and the seller will then coordinate a pick up time and make payment arrangements.  

 

When an item is SOLD:  Upon selling your item please send an email to the group with the subject line:  SOLD: <item that sold>.   This will let everyone know your item is no longer available.  It is your responsibility as a seller to let the group know your item sold. 

 

Email preferences:   For those of you familiar with Freecycle (registered) you know how the amount of emails can become overwhelming.   There are a few options for receiving messages.  Option 1: You may receive messages as they are posted.  When someone posts a message the group receives an email.  Depending on the success of this sale your inbox can potentially become flooded with emails.       

                                                         Option 2:  Digest form.  You may choose to receive messages in digest form.  You would receive one email a day with all the messages posted to the group that day.  Pro: Your inbox will be free of clutter. Con: You could miss that item you were looking for because someone beat you to the chase.

                                                         

How to obtain a Yahoo!
